New Zealand Session Tunesets
Find here the typical tunes and sets played at the various sessions around New Zealand, as well as some original tunes and tune sets by Kiwi players. Where possible, the tunes are grouped in sets. - Dicey O'Riley's Irish Pub in Dunedin hosts a session for beginner and intermediate players every Friday from about 5:30pm. Here are the tunes we typically start with (Hewlett/Planxty Irwin/Si Beag, Si Mór/Cloak of Munster). pdf, abc
- The now-defunct Pioneer Pog 'n' Scroggin Bush Band (1980 - 2004) had some sets of tunes that are still well used in sessions and ceilidhs around Otago. Here is the polka set that was used for the Circassian Circle, always the first dance of the night (Boneparte's Retreat/Pat Horgan's 1 and 2/42 Pound Cheque/Dennis Murphy's). pdf, abc
