[Nz-folk] Call me When the Cross Turns Over

"Call me when the Cross turns over" is a goodnight remark which members 
of Aussie outback shearing gangs made as they turned in for the night, 
and refers to the Southern Cross circling in the sky.


A Google search gives us....

And of course we know Australian writer D'Arcy Niland wrote the first 
verse of Bright Fine Gold, published in the novel his New Zealand-born
